‘Misgendering’ Rapists Is Okay
Chris Chan and the hypocrisy of self ID
UPDATE: conflicting info is available about whether or not Chris will be housed with females. His states law stipulates only post-op trans identified males can be housed with women, so women may be safe from that part. Time will tell.
Chris Chan has been arrested for allegedly engaging in incest with his elderly, dementia-ridden mother. Yet, somehow, that isn’t even the worst part.
The worst part is the fact that he has been booked officially as a female and will be jailed with women. This means that women are now being punished twice for this males crimes: once, by having the crime attributed to women, and twice, by forcing them to be housed together.
Perhaps Henrico County Sheriff’s Office is a bit confused, but as a quick reminder: female is not a gender, it is one of two biological sexes. Not sure why Chris Chan’s gender matters at all, but as another quick reminder: he is a trans identified male, that identifies his gender as “transwoman”. Yet, “transwoman” is listed nowhere…and instead he has legally co-opted the female sex entirely.
This is yet another example of how biological sex is being erased by conflating it with gender…and how single sex spaces are being dismantled. Right in front of our eyes.
All at the hands of radical trans activists, whose hypocrisy knows no bounds. After all, half of them are the ones telling others to not misgender this predator:
Meanwhile, the other half are insisting Chris was never trans to begin with:
When will they figure out that you can’t have it both ways?
You can’t demand that anyone can self identify as whatever gender, sex, or mythical creature that they so choose, and then simultaneously deny using the requested pronouns of the predators that you enabled with your harmful ideology.
Let’s make that last point quite plain: gender ideology is what created this issue. Not the issue of predators existing. But, the issue of predators being able to identify their way into women’s shelters, bathrooms, and even prisons.
That issue is entirely the fault of the radical trans activists who lobby to override the rights of others in the name of supposedly advancing trans rights. Just look at how women have to form sleeping shifts in prisons just to ensure each other’s safety:
This may be controversial to say but it must be said: misgendering rapists is okay. It is allowed.
No matter what gender ideology and radical trans activists tell you, using requested pronouns is not the “bare minimum respect” you can show trans identified people. The bare minimum respect you can show anyone is to be kind, if they are kind, too. Kindness is not measured by pronoun usage.
Compelled speech isn’t inclusive.
Further, it’s not even ‘misgendering’ to begin with. Factually, using he/him pronouns for Chris Chan is observing his biological sex and using sex based pronouns. No one is a monster for using sex based pronouns on any individual, even trans identified people. And victims are certainly not monsters for using sex based pronouns for their rapists or abusers.
As a great linguist I know once said, at most you can call it ‘disgendering’. ‘Misgendering’ as a concept can only exist if you accept gender ideology to be true.
It’s actually very clear what the issues are with unfettered self ID. It allows people that are sexual predators to co-opt the legitimate trans community to shield their predacious ways. This is an issue some people scoff at and dismiss.
Yet, even trans people recognize the issue and are willing to discuss it:
Why isn’t the rest of society talking about this? We are so wrapped up in being inclusive that we aren’t considering the people being hurt by that inclusion. And in this society, where inclusivity reigns supreme and commands all, people are being hurt.
It’s fascinating to watch the trans community eat itself from the inside. But the time for action is now. Women prisoners are writing columns in local publications about being given condoms in preparation for male inmates. Proposed legislation is furthering the conflation of sex and gender. Major LGBT organizations are erasing biological sex and effectively, homosexuality.
Biological sex, homosexuality, and therefore — women and gay people, are currently under direct attack. Part of that attack is coming from people and organizations claiming to be apart of our community. A community many no longer feel they belong to.
Do you blame them? “Queer culture” has soured what was once a community built on pride, now inundated with heterosexuals and sexual predators using LGB people as a shield. Using gay rights as a Trojan horse to bring in this harmful ideology.
The consequences for lack of action are as far reaching as the oversight that created them. A large segment of LGB people reject gender ideology and it’s harmful implications for same sex attracted people, children and women. It’s hard to know what the first thing to do is, and what will begin the journey of healing for our community.
You can be certain getting males out of female prisons is a damn good start.
I’ll just go right ahead and proffer a theory as to why anyone would complain and object to this, or any other trans person, being misgendered: they, too, have something to hide and if Chris can lose his pronoun privileges for the heinous crimes he’s committed, so can they.
I also believe the most likely reason for these complaints is also the most mundane - that being “correctly” gendered isn’t a human right after all but merely a concession of both politeness and etiquette.
