Cautious Affirmation Is NOT ‘Trans Conversion Therapy’
Calling reasonable medical treatments “conversion therapy” is homophobic co-opting of the homosexual language and experience
As a conversion therapy survivor, I cannot bring myself to remain silent when I hear someone refer to cautious affirmation treatment as “conversion therapy”. It is offensive. It is insulting. It is a homophobic lie.
Seeing a medical professional to address gender dysphoria is nothing like my experience of being dragged to a decrepit church basement to be threatened with eternal hellfire if I couldn’t bring myself to engage in heterosexual relationships.
It’s yet another example of how trans activists ride the coattails of gay rights to usher in this harmful gender ideology. Co-opting our language and experience is exactly how they disguise the dangerous secrets of their medicalized money-machine.
The very idea that a reasonable affirmation treatment for gender dysphoria by a medical professional is somehow comparable to experiences of conversion therapy like mine, or worse, is incompatible at its very foundation:
There certainly is a form of ‘trans conversion therapy’ that exists, however.
That would be the ‘rushed affirmation approach’, the method we see all too commonly these days. The approach that leads to homosexuals detransitioning as little as 2 years later and 9 year old straight boys thinking they’re actually lesbians.
It’s the very same method that resulted in the governor of Tavistock stepping down in protest. It’s been adopted by most LGBT organizations and an overwhelming amount of medical practitioners as a solution for anyone with gender dysphoria.
The false idea that identifying as transgender solves issues with mental health or body image (or that it works as a social shield for homosexuals to avoid bigotry from trans identified people) results in these concepts running rampant as a form of social contagion among social media sites and peer groups.
Being trans is the latest must have toy for kids and teens. Collecting micro identities is like collecting Pokémon cards. Erasing homosexuals and women’s rights while being fooled into believing that it’s in the name of trans rights is the new social justice movement anyone can join.
They chant cult like mantras such as “transwomen are women”. Anyone can be trans. Everyone should be trans. Popular transgender culture is a fad, a trend, and it’s pressuring children to be trans. Large, woke inclusivity mobs have bullied organizations and governments into playing along.
How can organizations and medical professionals do anything but bow down to the social pressure of the trans taliban? You’re deemed a bigot for disagreeing with absolutely any transgender narrative at all, no matter how misrepresented or falsely framed they are:
Accusing gay people of “not supporting conversion therapy bans” is such a disturbing reframing of the truth that it makes me feel sick to my stomach to read. It is a disgusting falsification; an emotional manipulation tactic not below any radical trans activist.
However, spend enough time in this cult(ure) and you’ll find that lying and misrepresenting the facts are exactly how this movement prevails. Framing a genuine concern for gender nonconforming homosexuals being incorrectly led down a path of medicalization to reconcile their homosexuality and gender dysphoria as “not supporting conversion therapy bans” is ludicrous.
Gender ideology itself is a new form of conversion therapy. It would see homosexuals put into a medical closet. We must advocate for treatment that focuses on self acceptance rather than medicalization.
Situations like this are exactly why it’s so vital to form LGB only organization and spaces. We must unite to advocate for our specific rights and needs as same sex attracted people. An overwhelming amount of LGB people object to radical trans activism. Countless are too afraid or unsafe to speak up.
We will continue to speak out against the harm being inflicted on our community. Homosexuals won’t be put back in the closet. Not by the far right, not by extreme religious zealots…and not by radical trans activists.
